The tour to the glacier lagoon is our longest one yet. The tour duration is 16 hours in a good day. We strongly recommend doing it in two- or even three days if you have the time. We can arrange everything for you, in order to make your time in Iceland memorable.

Glacier Lagoon private tour
Iceland’s deepest lake is waiting for you to see it. During summer, you can take a boat ride on the lagoon and taste 1000 year old ice. How cool is that?
Jökulsárlón, or Glacier lagoon as it’s called in English, is a large glacial lake in southeast Iceland on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park. The lagoon covers an area that is about 18km2. The lake is the deepest lake in Iceland and the largest glacial lake in Europe. Two James Bond movies have been shot at the lagoon. Can you name them?
The tour to the Glacier lagoon is a long one. The drive up there is 5.5 hours without stops. We do stop on the way, at Seljalandsfoss, Reynisfjara & Vik. On the way back we do try to make a stop at Skogafoss, if time allows it.
Seljalandsfoss has a 62m/197ft drop from the Eyjafjallajokull glacier and volcano. When you arrive at the waterfall, it’s beauty will astonish you and you immediately want to go closer. It is possible to walk behind the waterfall during summer.
Black sand beach
Reynisfjara black sand beach, famous from many Hollywood & Bollywood movies and Game of Thrones. The sand is coming from the volcanoes, originally ash. You can see Puffins(from May to end of July), Fulmars and Guillemots from the beach.
Vik i Myrdal
Vik is the most southern populated village in Iceland. It used to be a fishing village, the only one with out an harbor.Katla is a volcano hiding under the glacier, Myrdalsjokull. Myrdalsjokull is the 4.th largest glacier in Iceland. Katla erupts every 40-80 years on average, the last one(that we know about) in 1918. Approximately 20 eruptions in Katla since settlement and about 300 since the end of the last iceage.
Skogafoss, last but not the least. Majestic 62m/197ft waterfall falling from the Skoga river.it.
The Glacier Lagoon started to form in 1934 when the glacier started to retreat. Today the lagoon is constantly getting larger as approximately 500 square meters of ice break off the glacier every year. All that ice runs from the lagoon towards the sea but does not make it through the surf and subsequently lands on the beach. When we arrive, take a moment to look at the unspoiled nature and feel the mystified energy that the area gives you.
Does Iceland really have crazy weather?
Please keep in mind that the tour changes during the winter months, from October until April. It is impossible due to daylight conditions to operate the tour with as many stops as during summer. We do try our best though.
During winter, we recommend that you do this tour as a two day tour, which is brilliant because that gives you the option of hunting for the northern lights.
Spending an extra day during summer is also a great idea. Contact us for further information.

Glacier Lagoon private tour is hopefully a tour that you will enjoy and never forget.
